How does auto-renewal work and how can I turn it off?
Here's how to check your renewal date and stop your next automatic renewal.
Want to know when your plan will renew, or prefer to renew it manually? Let's see how auto-renewal works and how you can manage it yourself.
This guide covers self-service plans.
Summary:
- How auto-renewal works
- When renewal reminders are sent
- How to turn off auto-renewal
- How to switch to monthly billing at the next renewal
1. How auto-renewal works
Auto-renewal is enabled by default when you purchase a plan. When it is active, your subscription renews automatically for the same duration and shipment range, unless you have changed your renewal preferences.
Your scheduled renewal date is the expiry date of your current plan. You can check your plan status, expiry date and renewal details on Plans.
2. When renewal reminders are sent
Reminder emails before renewal are sent only when auto-renewal is active. If you have turned it off, you will not receive a renewal or expiry reminder.
📌 Note: For annual and biennial plans with auto-renewal active, a courtesy reminder is sent 30 days before expiry. This reminder does not replace your subscription's Terms & Conditions.
3. How to turn off auto-renewal
You can stop the next automatic renewal yourself before your plan renews.
- Open Plans.
- Click the red “Cancel my subscription”.
- Follow the cancellation process, which asks whether you would like to leave feedback.
- Check your cancellation status on Plans.
Turning off auto-renewal stops the next renewal; it does not end your current plan immediately. Your plan remains active until it expires. You can then renew it manually from Plans, choosing the plan type and duration.
📌 Note: No written cancellation confirmation is provided. Check the status on Plans to verify that the next renewal has been cancelled.
4. How to switch to monthly billing at the next renewal
Want to move from annual or biennial billing to monthly billing? Arrange this before your next renewal: a billing-duration change is not retroactive.
- Turn off auto-renewal as explained above before your current plan renews.
- Wait for your current plan to expire.
- Purchase a new monthly plan from Plans.
