How to connect Spring Back to ShippyPro

Spring Back (by Spring GDS) is a service dedicated exclusively to returns management, allowing you to create return shipments and track them through a single API integration.

It supports multiple last-mile carriers (e.g., Poste Italiane, Royal Mail) through a single connection.

1. Before you start

To proceed with the connection you will need an API Key provided directly by Spring GDS.

If you have not yet received your credentials, contact your Spring GDS representative to request them.


2. Connection steps

Go to the Carriers section and select the Spring Back logo. You can find it quickly by typing "Spring Back" in the search bar. Once located, click to connect the carrier and fill in the required fields:

API Key
The API key provided by Spring GDS for authentication. Required field.

Service Type
Select the desired last-mile delivery service (e.g., Poste Italiane, Royal Mail 48). See the services table in the Additional Options section.

Label Type
Only available format: PDF A6.

Test Mode
Enable this option to use the sandbox environment during testing. Disable it to switch to the production environment.

⚠️ Note: The sandbox environment applies stricter field validation when requests come from certain HTTP clients. Always send complete address fields to avoid inconsistent behavior.

Return label must be generated on the same account that generated the outbound shipment

Outbound Order ID outbound_order_id text When provided, the shipment is created referencing an existing Spring Back outbound order. The carrier retrieves item details from the original order. The full receiver address is still sent.
