1. Before you start

Before connecting Lietuvos Paštas to ShippyPro, make sure you have:

  • An active Lietuvos Paštas account with API access
  • Your API credentials (Username and Password)
  • Access to the Carriers section in your ShippyPro account
  • Confirmed which service type you want to use (SIGNED, UNTRACKED, HANDS, or HANDS_EXPRESS)

 

Coverage: Lietuvos Paštas supports domestic shipping in Lithuania (LT), Latvia (LV), and Estonia (EE), as well as international shipping from these countries to worldwide destinations.


2. Connection steps

Follow these steps to connect Lietuvos Paštas to your ShippyPro account:

  1. Log in to your ShippyPro account
  2. Navigate to Connections > Carriers
  3. Scroll down and click on the Lietuvos Paštas v2 logo
  4. A connection modal will appear. Fill in the required fields:
    • Username: Enter your Lietuvos Paštas API username
    • Password: Enter your Lietuvos Paštas API password
    • Service Type: Select your preferred service type:
      • SIGNED - Standard tracked delivery (Parcel to Hand)
      • UNTRACKED - Untracked delivery (default option)
      • HANDS - Hand-to-hand delivery service
      • HANDS_EXPRESS - Express delivery service with special features (supports insurance)
    • Label Type: PDF A6 (10x15 cm) 
    • Test Mode: Toggle this option if you want to use the sandbox environment for testing
Click Save to establish the connection. ShippyPro will automatically validate your credentials. If successful, Lietuvos Paštas will appear as an active carrier in your account.

Lietuvos Paštas integration with ShippyPro offers four main service types:

SIGNED (Parcel to Hand)

Standard tracked delivery service with signature confirmation. Ideal for packages requiring proof of delivery.

UNTRACKED (Parcel to Hand)

Untracked delivery option for lower-value shipments where tracking is not required. This is the default service type.

HANDS (Hand to Hand)

Hand-to-hand delivery service providing personal delivery with enhanced security.

HANDS_EXPRESS (Hand to Fast)

Express delivery service with special features:

  • Fastest delivery option
  • Insurance support (only service type that supports insurance)
  • Uses volumetric weight calculation
  • Maximum volumetric weight: 30 kg

5. Troubleshooting & Errors

 

Why is insurance not working with my shipment?

Insurance is only supported with the HANDS_EXPRESS service type. Make sure you've selected HANDS_EXPRESS as your service type when using insurance.

I'm getting an error about volumetric weight exceeding 30 kg. What does this mean?

When using the HANDS_EXPRESS service, the carrier calculates weight based on parcel volume (L×W×H / 5000). If this calculated weight exceeds 30 kg, you'll need to either reduce parcel dimensions or use a different service type.

Can I void a shipment after it's been created?

Yes, use the void shipment functionality which calls the DELETE endpoint with the parcelId. 

How does multiparcel work?

The system automatically includes the parcel count in the API request. You'll receive one master tracking code for the entire shipment plus individual tracking codes for each parcel.

What happens if I don't provide items in my order?

The system will automatically create a single item with the description "Goods" (or use contentDescription if provided) with quantity 1 and amount 0.

Are COD amounts converted to EUR automatically?

Yes, both COD and insurance amounts are automatically converted to EUR using the internal currency converter before being sent to the carrier API.
