1. Before you start
Before connecting Rutilli to ShippyPro, make sure you have:
- An active Rutilli contract. Your Rutilli sales contact provides your SP\ONE Username and Password, your Customer Code, and the Transport Type and Department Code agreed for your account.
- Access to the ShippyPro API. Rutilli works only with Dynamic Multiparcel, which is enabled per shipment in the Ship request.
- Domestic or EU shipments. Rutilli is a road groupage carrier. Shipments within Italy are supported; EU destinations depend on the lanes included in your Rutilli contract.
Note: Rutilli receives nothing when you create a label. Your shipments reach Rutilli only when you run the closeout (see section 4.2).

- Destinations: Italy, and EU countries included in your Rutilli contract.
- Shipment type: every shipment is sent to Rutilli as road groupage.
- Labels: generated by ShippyPro, one per parcel, in PDF A6 or ZPL 100x150.
- Tracking: available for every parcel through ShippyPro tracking.
4. Dynamic Multiparcel
With Rutilli, Dynamic Multiparcel is mandatory. You create one parcel per Ship call, and ShippyPro groups the parcels into a single shipment, which is sent to Rutilli at closeout.
- Each parcel → its own label and tracking code. ShippyPro assigns every parcel an 18-digit SSCC code. It is printed as the barcode on the label and is also the tracking code.
- Parcels to the same recipient → one shipment. Parcels going to the same recipient address are grouped under the same master shipment.
- Closeout → sent to Rutilli. Each group is sent as one consolidated shipment with N parcels, and the total weight is the sum of all parcels.
4.1 Create a Dynamic Multiparcel shipment
Step 1 – Create the first parcel
Send a Ship request with IsDynamicMultiparcel: true and a single parcel. ShippyPro opens the master shipment and returns the label and SSCC tracking code for that parcel.
Step 2 – Add the next parcels
Send a new Ship request with IsDynamicMultiparcel: true for each additional parcel. Each parcel joins the open master shipment and gets its own label and SSCC.
For the rules on which parcels can join the same master shipment, see the ShippyPro API documentation – Ship.
Step 3 – Run the closeout
When all parcels are created, run the closeout (CloseShipments). Only then does Rutilli receive the shipment. See section 4.2.
4.2 Closeout
The closeout is mandatory for every Rutilli shipment: it is the only way your shipments reach Rutilli.
- Each group of parcels is sent as one shipment, with all its parcels and the total weight.
- Groups are independent: if one group fails, the other groups are still sent. Only the orders of the failed group show an error.
Tip: create all the parcels of a group before running the closeout.
Important: Rutilli shipments cannot be cancelled with the Void API, either before or after the closeout. Check your parcels carefully before closing out.

6. FAQ
