How to connect City Express to ShippyPro

City Express (City Express d.o.o., Belgrade) is a Serbian express courier covering domestic parcel delivery in Serbia. The connector supports home delivery, delivery to parcel shops and lockers, cash on delivery, and courier pickups. ✨

1. Before you start

To proceed with the connection, you will need an API Key supplied by City Express. This key is used to authenticate every request and is validated live when you save the configuration on ShippyPro.

Please contact City Express to obtain your API Key before proceeding with the setup.

2. Carrier setup

Go to the Carriers section and select the City Express logo. You can find it quickly by typing "City Express" in the search bar. Once located, click to connect the carrier and fill in the required fields:

Label A free nickname for this configuration, shown in your ShippyPro carrier list.

API Key The key supplied by City Express. It is validated live on save.

Service Standard (the only available service).

Label Type Choose between:

PDF A6 — one label per page (default)
PDF A4 — four labels per sheet

Create return label Enable this option to automatically attach a return label in the box to every outbound shipment. The return label reuses the outbound barcode and is marked "POVRAT", with sender and receiver swapped.

Test Mode Test and production use the same endpoint; only the API Key changes. Enable this when using a test account key.

Cash on Delivery

COD is supported in RSD and EUR only. Any other currency will be refused before the shipment is created.

Insurance

Insurance is supported in RSD and EUR only. The declared value is printed on the label as "Vrednost".

Return Shipments

Return labels are supported. On a return, City Express collects from the end customer (sender) and delivers to the merchant (receiver). The courier pickup is booked automatically by City Express when the return shipment is created — no additional call is needed.

Return Label in the Box

When the Create return label option is enabled in the configuration, a return label is automatically attached to every outbound shipment. The return label reuses the same barcode as the outbound shipment, so the return tracking code is identical to the outbound one.

Pickup Booking

Pickup can be booked at the shipment address. Note that City Express does not offer a pickup cancellation endpoint — once booked, a pickup cannot be cancelled via API.

PickUp/DropOff (PUDO)

Around 650 active parcel shops and lockers are available in Serbia. Locker locations are identified by a numeric ID; parcel shops use an alphanumeric ID. The point can be selected through the standard ShippyPro PUDO flow.

Live Rates

Live rates return a single Standard rate in RSD, inclusive of VAT (20%). The quote includes any selected delivery options (COD, return document, Saturday delivery), so the displayed price matches the final shipment cost.

4. Errors & Resolutions

During the connection attempt or while shipping your orders, you may encounter some errors. Don't worry!

Invalid API Key (error 7000)

If you receive a 7000 error, your API Key is incorrect or not recognised. Double-check the key provided by City Express and make sure there are no extra spaces. The key is validated live when you save the configuration.

International shipment not allowed (error 7094)

City Express only supports domestic shipments within Serbia. If you attempt an international shipment with a domestic account, you will receive error 7094 (DomesticUserInternationalShipmentNotAllowed). Make sure both the sender and the receiver address are in Serbia.

COD or Insurance currency not accepted

Cash on Delivery and Insurance are only supported in RSD and EUR. If you use a different currency, the shipment will be refused before it is sent to the carrier. Switch to one of the accepted currencies to proceed.

Shipment cannot be voided

Cancellation is only possible before a shipment is committed. Since ShippyPro commits the shipment immediately to retrieve the label, voiding is not available after the label has been generated.

Validation errors in Serbian

Some error messages returned by City Express may appear in Serbian. If you are unable to identify the cause of an error, contact ShippyPro support for assistance.
